FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a leased beat?

A leased beat is a beat that can be sold to multiple music artists. Since the buyer does not own “exclusive rights” to the beat, the instrumental will remain up for sale and may continue to be sold to future buyers until an exclusive rights license for the beat has been purchased.

What is an exclusive rights beat?

When a music artist purchases an exclusive rights license to a beat they gain exclusive use of that beat. Once exclusive rights to a beat are sold, the beat will be removed from the store and will not be sold to any other music artists.

Can I still use my leased beats after exclusive rights have been sold?

Yes, you can continue to use the beat within the terms of the leasing license. Selling exclusive rights does not affect previous leases,
however, once exclusive rights to a beat have been sold, previous buyers will not be allowed to renew or upgrade their license once the limits described in their license have been reached or the term of the license has expired.

What is a track out?

When a music artists purchases a license that contains the “track out” files, they will receive all of the individual .wav tracks which combine to create the beat. For example, the audio track containing only the kick drum sound will be sent as a separate file, the audio track containing only the piano sound will be sent as a separate file, and so forth. Having each individual audio track allows a professional mixing and mastering process to be performed after vocals have been recorded over the beat, as opposed to just recording vocals directly over the beat as is.

Can I read the full license agreement before purchasing?

Yes, for all lease licenses, click the “Read Full License” button in the pricing table. For exclusive rights contact me at info@flyguyj.com

Will the voice tags be removed from the beat after my purchase?

Yes, all audio tags, other than the “Signature Tag” in the intro, will be removed from the instrumental with the purchase of any license. With an Exclusive Rights License, the buyer has the option to remove the Signature Tag if he/she would prefer to do so.

Do you use samples in your beats?

Yes, I do use samples in some of my beats. If the beat contains a sample that needs to be cleared, the clearing of any sampled materials is the sole responsibility of the buyer/end user. Fly Guy J Productions cannot, and will not be held liable for the misuse of any sampled material that the Licensee uses without gaining proper clearance of the sampled material. Sampled beats will have [Sampled] in the beat name. For example: “Beat Name [Sampled]”. Sampled beats can also be sorted from the menu by choosing the “Sampled” tag from the #Tags menu. If you would like to know if a beat contains samples you can contact me anytime at info@flyguyj.com before you buy it.
