What’s going on music makers!?
A few weeks ago I reviewed Loopcloud 5, which is a software application & plugin that gives you access to millions of royalty free sounds and loops that you can use in your own DAW or inside Loopcloud’s own fully-featured sample manager.

Loopcloud Sounds

It’s an awesome music production tool that producers can use to help spark song creation ideas, inspire creativity, find and create new sounds, and improve your workflow efficiency! If you are a sample-based producer, enjoy using and modifying sample loops, curating/creating drum kit sounds, or are just looking for new/different sounds to add to your own music, I highly recommend downloading the free version of Loopcloud and giving it a test run!
You can use the updated software for free and then subscribe to one of the subscription plans later (ArtistStudio or Professional packages) if you want to unlock and utilize the full potential of Loopcloud.

What is Loopcloud?

Loopcloud is basically an application that you can download and use to find a bunch of different royalty-free sounds and loops. They have over 3.5 million sounds, spanning different genre’s, that you can download and add into your music production.
The cool thing about Loopcloud is that you can use the Loopcloud plugin to sync it with your DAW. This allows you to use the sounds and loops directly in your music production software and sync the loops to the tempo of your DAW. You can modify, the samples in Loopcloud using built in effects such as reverb, delay, filtering, timestretching, etc., and then simply drag and drop them right into your DAW.
Another cool feature is that they allow you to save all the samples you’ve downloaded to “the cloud” in order to save your precious hard drive space, or you can choose to store to your computer or external hard drive if you so choose.

Why should I use it? (Loopcloud features)

  • Browse, favorite, and download individual one-shots, loops, or full sample packs.
  • Browse and download midi files, patches, and presets such as Massive Presets
  • Use the built in loop editor to preview, modify sounds/loops, change key and tempo, and add effects
  • Use the Loopcloud Plugin to sync Loopcloud with your DAW
  • Store samples to computer hard drive, external hard drive, or in the cloud to save space!
  • Drag & drop original or modified samples from Loopcloud to your DAW
  • Use the Loopcloud Drum Plugin to add additional drum kit sounds to your music production (Free MPC style VST instrument)
  • Use the Loopcloud Play Plugin to add additional synth sounds to your music production (Free Synthesizer VST instrument)
  • Import your own sample libraries and use their sample management tool to tag your own sounds and make it easier to sort and find the sounds you are looking for

My favorite feature (The game changer!)

My favorite feature is the ability to sync Loopcloud with your DAW, modify samples from Loopcloud within the powerful Loopcloud editor, and then preview the modified samples in real time along with any music you already have started producing in your DAW! All of this can be done without requiring you to spend your Loopcloud points on downloading the samples first!
This allows you to make sure the sounds you end up downloading are the sounds you are actually going to use in your music production. No more wasted credits on sounds that “sounded good” in the preview, but then didn’t really end up fitting with the rest of your music once you’ve actually downloaded and imported the sounds into your DAW.

How do I get Started with Loopcloud?

You can click the banner below to take you to the Loopcloud homepage and then click on the sounds menu to start browsing sounds immediately. Also from the homepage you can go ahead and click the “Start Free Trial” button if you’d like to give the Loopcloud software a test run!

Loopcloud Sounds

As you can see there’s endless creative possibilities with Loopcloud 5 and it’s a great music production tool to add to your toolkit! Especially if you have beat block or are having a hard time creating your own melodies. Sometimes it’s just more efficient to go to Loopcloud real quick, find a base melody to start with, modify the melody to your liking, and then build your own melodies and drum grooves on top of that.

Or you can simply browse the one-shot library for that missing sound that you are looking for, or start curating and your own drum kits to use from the millions of one-shots available from the Loopcloud Library.
